WISH LIST

Got some extra stuff cluttering up your life?

If you want to clean house, and do a good deed at the same time, then consider donating your unwanted items to Burning Man. Whether it be power tools or PCs, your donations can help various volunteer groups accomplish their mission before, during, and after the event.

CENTER CAMP CAFÉ

CONSTRUCTION:

about this photo
Every year we carpet the entire Café to keep the dust down and make the space comfortable for participants. And every year a good amount of that carpet is destroyed by the elements. This year we again are looking for large amounts of free carpet to cover the Café floor. If you have large amounts of carpet (five thousand square feet or more), or know a good source for carpet please contact cafe(at)burningman(dot)com.

The Café Rigging Team is looking for:

  • Pulley Blocks
  • Good Quality Rope
  • Safety Harnesses

If you have spare rigging gear kicking around please contact rigging(at)burningman(dot)com.

DECOR:

Café Decor is looking for:

  • Plastic leaves: sturdy fake foliage and flowers, preferably oversized. Fake trees are good too.
  • Hi-gloss latex paint (1-gal or larger) any color.
  • Metal shelving unit(s) collapsible. Style not
    important.
  • Canvas (white or unbleached) at least 4' wide, need
many many many yards. Small pieces need to be at least
    3 yards long.
  • Solid-colored fabrics in these colors: red, orange,
    green, yellow, blue, purple.
  • Polaroid camera for taking images of helpers and
adding them to the Altar of Volunteers.
  • Wind chimes & bells.

CAFÉ SOUND:

In the Café Sound Team, even the equipment volunteers! A valiant yet grueling duty, it is. Every year we must replenish the Playa PA! Seriously, things break; one of anything just isn't enough. Help make it happen by gifting us your well-worn but working equipment. Your gifts help us create the performances and will be used this year and beyond! We always need:

  • Stage parts, modules, risers, materials
  • Microphones & mic stands
  • DI (direct) boxes
  • PA mixers, amps & speakers
  • Home stereo amps, tuners, & speakers
  • CD Players (component or portable)
  • Effects processors
  • Cables (mic, instrument, speaker, line, snake, etc.)
  • Extra long cables!

Contact cafe-sound(at)burningman(dot)com for more information.

CAFÉ PERFORMANCE:

The Café Performance Team is looking for a few good stools. You know, like comfy barstools that swivel. These are great.

We also need some clip fans. Little fans that clip onto things.

We could use a wine fridge, like the kind with a glass front door. (We have a crazy idea with this one!)

Drop us a note at cafe-performance(at)burningman(dot)com for more information.
